I'm sorry that no real-life facts agree with what you kooks want to believe about eating meat, but they're still the facts.

Here are 26+ reasons why we should (must) eat "meat" -- or at least animal foods ---http://naturalhygienesociety.org/diet3.html
If we don't - we will start on the slow road to deficiency diseases & early death....
This is the problem, why all those above symptoms appear -- wring food combing! and over-cooking!
Eating sugar & starches at the same meal destroys the digestion of the sensitive (& very important) animal foods -- read Nancy Appleton e.g.
Sugars are the big problem!

i cant see why people dont eat meat, i can understand if they think its "unethical" or "immoral" but i really enjoy it, i've eaten meat all my life on a regular basis, and i haev no problems phsically and neither does anyone i know who eats meat. the only person i know who became extremely ill because of their diet was my auntie, she became a vagitarian after looking at theese type of bullshit sites and programs on tv, she got obsessed with it and she didnt eat any fat for years , unfortunatly she died last year. i know i may seem a bit strong minded but its because of this experiance in my life, so please please if your thinking about becoming a vegitarian because you think your going to get fat if you carry on then dont, or you might fall down the same path as my auntie. but to al thoose people who just dont eat meat because they think its immoral or unethical, well done i respect that you think its wrong and your old enough to make your own opinion :)

@Steph - Good points! I mainly don't eat meat now for ethical reasons as well. I just can't imagine harming an animal so I can eat a steak. The other benefits are bonuses for me as well.

Woohoo, greater life expectancy? I didn't know that one! The increased back problems point is really interesting, too.

I really love not eating meat. I had such problems digesting it that I don't miss it. After years of not eating it I don't think I could ever go back, feeling how I feel and knowing what I know, especially when I think about what meat is.

Mostly I can't eat it now for more ethical reasons, but these points above make me feel good about my decision. Not at all in a smug way but rather in a relieved way. It's hard to explain. But I feel happy that I am getting at least one thing right for me and it's been easy.

Every time I hug my dog and interact with animals and look in their eyes, I'm so relieved I made the choice to go veg. Having Lucy has totally changed my life for good.
