Your subconscious mind determines what happens in your life.

First I should explain that when it comes to the processing power of your brain, about 97% of it resides within your subconscious. That’s a lot of processing power!

Second, your subconscious mind doesn’t make decisions. It’s more like a tape player that just keeps playing the same few tapes over and over again. Imagine you had a video playing on your computer or DVD player that was stuck on repeat and you couldn’t turn it off. That’s exactly what your subconscious mind is doing 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

If you combine the processing power of your subconscious mind with the constant repetition of certain thoughts, stories, and images, that equates to a very powerful creative combination.

Your thoughts are creative, and since your subconscious mind does most of your thinking in a repetitive manner and with such processing power, that explains why you’re probably having the same type of experiences in your life over and over again. A creative combination that just keeps creating the same thing over and over and over…

So what can you do to break the cycle?

You need to change those videos that are stuck on repeat.

Thank you for sharing. I tend to find I experience this frequently, sometimes my body subconsciously does the same things throughout the day which I do not necessarily think about but am use to it.

Yes, changing thought and behaviour patterns in your life requires A LOT of work. With your list above, I would say that a person would need to be doing ALL of those things EVERY day over time to effect any change. Meditation tends to be at the top of my list.

I don’t like the word subconscious. It looks like something mysterious we have to defend ourselves from. Our mind is wonderful. Even if our mind is full of suffering, it’s still wonderful. Exactly because it’s able to suffer in such an effective way. There is a good new. What we learned, we can unlearn. Again our mind is so wonderful that we can always change. We have to face an obstacle. Our fear to change. This fear is part of our training to suffer. That training includes also a huge preference for cowardice and contempt for courage. This is why is difficult to change. Don’t worry, you can always find back you courage and use it.
